:: BLACK ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT POLICY

Ownership - Soon after acquisition in 2003, the company facilitated a transaction in terms of which the previously disadvantaged black staff of ESP acquired 25.1% of the company, through the vehicle of the ESP Trust, which was established for this purpose.

Management - Currently ESP has committed to a 50% PDI Management team in the near future, as per our EE Strategy. Fast track development and training strategies have been implemented to facilitate this process.

Employment Equity - An EE Policy and strategy has been implemented, which endeavours to assist the company reach its intended goals. The company intends to reflect the demographics of the country and region in its employees, at all levels of occupation.

Skills Development - ESP is committed to the development of all its employees. Training and development strategies are being developed to assist the implementation of career development paths for all. This is being done in accordance with the Skills Development Legislation, hand in hand with the relevant SETA. The company has implemented training strategies in order that it can implement Learnership programmes to assist PDI youth to acquire the technical skills related to and relevant for screen printing.

 

 

Residual Element - The residual element is still to be determined by the industry and therefore cannot be included in scores at this stage.

Enterprise Development - The company has developed pioneering associations with other empowerment businesses in the broader printing industry with whom we work closely to provide our customers with the full spectrum of print services.   We are more than willing to refer customers to our trusted associates or to outsource their work and provide a single supplier experience to our customers. These initiatives have enable us to benefit from a cross-pollination of skills transfer and technical know-how, thereby assisting in the empowerment and development of both our own and their employees and management.

Preferential Procurement - ESP is committed to adopting preferential procurement procedures, and is implementing this as far as possible, within the confines of the industry.   By adhering to the strategic goals within the BEE plan, ESP hopes to encourage and assist its partners to also embrace the principles of BEE.
