From Marissa

“Protect each other.

Bite the hands that feed us pain.

There is something to say about the way we move in these lives.  The way we absolutely see one another, and ways we turn our heads to others.  I ask we look within. I ask we question why.

I made this print as a lover, a protector, a warrior, as someone who is committed,

as someone who will always hope to hold humility:growth:and curiosity.

This print is an offering and message in regards to violent evictions of unhoused community, to overdose, to occupations, to genocide, to suicide, to food insecurity, to racism, to anti trans bills and queer identities, to incarceration, response to state violence, and response to the broken healthcare systems and corruption, to land that has been stolen.

To the cycles of history repeating.

It is also my heart in response to decolonize, to mutual aid, to harm reduction, to family, kinship, to friendship. To demilitarize. To food shares and shelves. To decriminalize. To protect the land and people. To be brave. To be vulnerable. To build and rebuild.  To the people we have lost, that ask us to continue to fuel our hearts each day. That ask us to emit light into the darkness.

To dream. To love. To keep fighting.

Here is my offering to you.

I'm angry, I'm heartbroken, I'm tired. I'm inspired. Im determined.

And I'm always here beside you to keep dreaming and moving, in the commitment of protection from the heart.

Protect each other. Bite the hands that attempt to feed us pain.”
